Where fun meets creativity

Tiramisu cake is one of my most favourite dessert.  Over the years, every time I made tiramisu I changed the recipe slightly and played around with ingredients till I got my own version of “tiramisu”.  This simple but yet delicious dessert is soooo tiramisu, it is light, delicate and addictive. This is one of those desserts once you try it you want it again.

I make this recipe often because it is yummy and easy to make.  You can also argue the fact of being a healthier dessert at the same time.  Cream cheese and sour cream, both healthy and fresh.  Using dessert shells or individual fruit cakes, widely available in most grocery stores gives you the ability to control your portions as well.

For this cake you need:

  • One package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • 4-5 table spoon of Sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of sugar (less or more according to your preference, I like mine a little less sweet)
  • half cup of freshly brewed coffee (make the coffee sightly darker or heavier)
  • 1-2  tea spoon of coffee grains
  • Coco powder to dust

In an electric mixer, mix the cream cheese until soft and fluffy, then add sour cream and mix until fully incorporated. Add sugar and mix for another minute. Place the dessert shells in a plate or individual cups. Pour 2-4 table spoon of coffee. Judge the amount of coffee you use to prevent the shells from getting too soggy.  Either spoon or pipe the cream cheese mix on top of the dessert shells, sprinkle coffee grains and coco to finish.
