Welcome to Roya Today. My name is Roya and this is my creative corner that I call home. As much as I would love to post every day or at least once a week, inconsistency is my arch nemesis. Like every other busy mom kids, home, work and everyday life comes first on my todo list.
When I do find the time to post, I love to share my love for cooking, baking and DIY. Most of my recipes are inspired by my cultural back ground as an Afghan. I was born in Afghanistan, but we moved away when I was a young girl. Even though I don’t remember a lot, but majority of my memories are fond childhood memories with my grandparents, cousins, plying outside, lots of fresh fruits and yummy food.
I always loved to cook. I remember helping my mom, who is by the way an amazing cook, when I was nine years old. I loved watching my mom bake and make pastries. My mom would ask me to stay away when she was frying something or she had the oven door open. Me on other hand always tried to convince my mom that I was a big girl now, and I should be able to cook on my own.
Now as a mother myself, I always try to make different recipe and aim to achieve an authentic taste. Take traditional Afghani recipes and add my own twist. My goal is to share with you recipes that are fresh, healthy, quick and easy to make and something new.
